Who runs this site
Ground Control Point Planner is run by Michael Opeoluwa. You can get in touch through the contact page.
What the planner is
The planner is a free planning aid that suggests where to place ground control points and checkpoints before a drone survey. It needs no account. A plan is a checkpoint layout designed to ASPRS Edition 2. It is not proof of ASPRS compliance. That needs the field survey and the accuracy report.
Your responsibility on site
Planned positions are a starting point, accurate to about a metre. The map imagery may be out of date, and the building and water data may be incomplete or wrong. Before and during the survey, check every target against the ground, and survey each one where it actually lands. You are responsible for permission to enter the land, for safety on site, and for following the drone and survey rules that apply where you work.
Fair use
Use the planner for your own survey work. Do not try to overload or attack the site, get round its limits, or collect its results in bulk by automated means. Access may be limited or refused to stop misuse.
Your files and plans
Your site files stay yours, and so do the plan files you download. You may use them for any survey or client work. The site, the planner and its guides remain the property of Michael Opeoluwa, all rights reserved. Map imagery and map data belong to the providers credited on the map and are used under their terms.
No guarantee
The planner and its guides are provided as they are, without any guarantee that they are error free, suitable for a particular project or always available. The site may change or stop at any time.
Liability
As far as the law allows, there is no liability for any loss arising from using the planner or its results, including lost time, rework, missed accuracy targets or lost business. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you use the planner as a consumer, your legal rights where you live are not affected.
Privacy
How your data is handled is set out in the privacy notice.
